Sports Massage Therapy

Sport massage therapy describes the manual manipulation of soft tissue in the body of your equine athlete. Through the pressure that is facilitated by the hands of the therapist, the different layers of the skin as well as the muscles get influenced.
Massage therapy can release tension and adhesions in the tissue as well as release the fascia and trigger point. Some of the benefits of massage therapy is the increased range of motion, increased overall flexibility in the body of the horse as well as increase circulation. The increased circulation will help with faster healing, removing toxic waste in the tissue as well as increase the overall wellbeing of your equine athlete.
Massage therapy also increases lymphatic drainage and can aid in reducing scar tissue. All of these benefits will increase our equine athlete’s performance and mental wellbeing.

Full Body Performance Massage: $100
Each session is tailored to your equine athlete. It includes a full body massage therapy session, a detailed report as well as suggested exercises and stretches which are specifically meant to further benefit your equine athlete.

Full Body Static and Dynamic Assessment: $90
This session is intended to give you an overview of your equine athlete’s musculature. It will give you a reference point where your equine partner is at and how you can further bring out the best qualities in your training as well as what weaknesses to work on.
The assessment will also provide you with and exercise plan that is tailored to your equine athlete’s soft tissue needs.

One area will be taken into focus and worked on during this session. This works wonderful in combination with a full body performance massage therapy.
Novafon ‘Joint Mobility’ session: $50
In this Novafon session one specific joint will be the focus. This is a great addition to a full body performance massage therapy or a full body cupping session or can be used as a stand alone modality. This is great session, if your equine athlete experiences repeated strain on specific joints.
Novafon ‘Back Mobility’ session: $50
The weakness of many equine athletes is their back. This session is designed to specifically work on the muscles and joints needed to support the rider and to increase the overall flexibility and mobility of your equine athlete. This is a great addition to any service or it can be used as a stand alone modality.

Novafon Therapy

Novafon therapy can be used to address acute or chronic pain in your equine athlete. With the help of soundwaves at 100Hz and 50Hz the vibration can penetrate the skin up to 6cm deep. Through the deep tissue vibrations from the Novafon the body’s own rehabilitation mechanisms are activated. This can aid in a faster and smoother recovery for your equine athlete after training or during the rehabilitation phase after an injury.

Cupping Therapy

When the cups are placed on the horse’s skin, they create a negative pressure of the tissue. The cups can then be moved around and with the help of the negative pressure the fascia will be stimulated and adhesions can be dissolved.
When the fascia layer of your equine athlete is moving without restrictions, the range of motion as well as the overall circulation will be increased.
Cupping therapy is beneficial to use, if your equine athlete is not moving as smoothly as they used to as well as it is it the perfect therapy after a high intensity training session to insure the recovery of your equine partner.

Kinesiotaping Therapy

Kinesiology tape is an elastic athletic tape that is applied to your equine athlete’s skin. The tape then stimulates the hair follicle and works together with the mechanoreceptors at the base of the hair follicle.
The kinesiology tape then interacts with the nervous system and can decompress the pain receptors, therefore improving the wellbeing of your equine athlete.
The kinesiology tape has many beneficial properties such as providing support for joints and muscles, reduce inflammation, increase blood flow, improve proprioception, loosen fascia as well as activate muscles. It also helps immensely with edemas by activating the lymph flow.
