A unique blend of

Science based & Holistic methods

Hi my name is Melina and I am the owner of Integral Equine. Running my own business as an equine bodyworker has been my lifelong dream.

I love nothing more than to provide a holistic, science based, integral approach to your equine athlete’s bodywork needs.

“Horses have fascinated me since my early childhood. I love their power combined with their elegance, strength and their spirit.”

At the age of 5 I started taking riding lessons and that’s when I met the most wonderful horsewoman. She has taught me so much about equine behavior. To this day, I am actively involved in the sport. My interests have switched form dressage to the all around western events. I have also developed my skills in working with young horses. Not only the horsewomen have formed my way to become a professional equine bodyworker but also the horses I have met along my way. I have learned so much from my different equine partners over the years and facilitating healing for these wonderful animals quickly became my passion.

I did not start out as an equine massage therapist but rather as a biologist. I studied Biology, mainly Cell Biology and Microbiology, at the University of Bern. During that time, I dove deep into research and biomechanics of different animals as well as how the body and the immune system work for humans and animals alike. Even though my time at the University was great and I learned a lot, I felt deep down, that this was not my calling.

This is why is switched degrees and finished my diploma in Equine Science at the University of Guelph. As I mentioned above, I had some very special horses in my life and that is what drove me to pursue a career in equine massage therapy. To be able to take an integral approach to horse wellness, by combining my years of equine behavior study, with my biomechanics background as well as my equine massage therapy education.

My goal is to provide a holistic approach and find out the why behind your equine partner’s behavior.

Education and especially continued education is very important to me. There is always something new to be learned and I find it from the upmost importance to make sure to stay on top of all the newest research and developments in the field of equine massage therapy.

Looking forward, I am so excited to share my passion for science and equine biomechanics with you and help you and your equine athlete achieve the goals you are dreaming off with integrity, compassion and intention.
